The Football player
The most typical error I see in inexpert photos – and in more pro work than you may imagine is what I call the “Linebacker” pose.
Consider a professional football player. (The United States kind, not what we in the U.S. think of as soccer.) Size is a large component of their job. The bigger and wider they appear to be, the better. When they pose for photos, they try to face the camera’s lens straight on – making their shoulders look as wide as they can. They will want their hips and thighs to appear huge as well.
The more of the frame they can fill, the better – intimidation is their target.
Now picture virtually everyone else in the world-few of them are trying to appear intimidating in their pictures.
Take Off The Appearance Of Excess Size-
To help our model’s desire to get rid of that “footballer” look, simply have them twist their shoulders so they’re about 45 degrees to the lens. This appears natural, and is the most slimming pose. If they’re visible in the photo, the model’s hips, legs and feet should be turned too.
Rule of thumb-Shoulders, hips, legs and feet should never be straight on to the camera.
Avoid??? The “Sumo Wrestler” Pose Too!
While linebackers want to look broad – they don’t necessarily want to appear fat! The only photo subject I can think of that actively has a use for looking fat is a Sumo wrestler.
Throughout the known universe, and even more so in the United States we almost ALL feel that we look too fat! (With valid reason.) It has turned into an obsession. How many times have you heard the phrase “the camera adds 10 pounds?” To make our subjects to visually lose some pounds, think about what makes us appear visually heavy! It’s the shadows!
When you begin your search for a wedding photographer, youre going to run into a lot of terminology discussing styles that you may not have heard before. Many people make the mistake of thinking that they simply hire a photographer and thats the end of it. Unfortunately, if you dont know what type / style of photographer youre hiring, you may not get the look in your wedding photos that you had been hoping for. Artistic
This type of photography can be given to interpretation. Photographs may be saturated with color, given special effects or may even be hard to decipher as wedding photographs. You may want to find a photographer that utilises this style if you plan on hanging one or several of your wedding photos on the wall.
Candid
While professional photographers do utilise candid photography, its most often the type of picture-taking that you see from amateurs (unless the photographer has bought along a ‘second’ to take care of these particular shots). A bit of a point and shoot approach that doesnt have subjects primping and posing. This type of photography is most often used for more casual weddings.
Contemporary
This type of photography may be a combination of all the other types or a type that utilizes whatever style of photography is currently in vogue. Look through some popular photography magazines or even bridal magazines to see what’s popular.
Documentary
Photographers using this style attempt to convey a true feeling of the wedding and reception through their photographs. Looking through the wedding album will allow you to relive the day as it happened without the use of words or captions. This type of photography is also called photojournalism.
Formal
Sometimes called traditional, these are posed shots where everyone is looking at the camera. Group shots of the wedding party, the couple with their families and the couple on their own are popular.
Its very important that you convey your wishes to any photographer that you are planning on hiring prior to your wedding day. You aren’t gong to get a chance to have them retaken another day (hopefully!). Ask your potential photographer for references and look at their sample albums – many have galleries online to peruse. If they don’t seem to be understanding exactly what you want, move on to the next. Many professionals have a range of styles in their arsenal and should be able to give you several different types of photographs in one album. If the person you are interviewing can’t give you the look that you desire, chances are the next can. Get the right wedding photography for your wedding and you will have photos to cherish forever
Many people are buying expensive digital cameras nowadays and they would like to make great and beautiful photos that everyone will admire. Unfortunately, most of them remain just average or below average photographers and their photographs suck. Main reason for this lack of quality in their pictures is not the lack of talent but the inadequate training and ignorance.

In the second part of the book author introduces various trick photography techniques and many special effects. In this part you will also start using Photoshop to manipulate and enhance your photos to add drama to your images and to create surreal situations and settings.
In the third part of the book you can learn much more about Photoshop and how to create some really shocking images. The author of the book is a Photoshop expert and he will show you how to create some awesome effects in a simple and straightforward way.
All things considered, the “Trick Photography And Special Effects” e-book is a great choice for many people looking to learn more about photography and to improve their skills in a fun and interesting way. Some people may not consider techniques used in this book to be standard or traditional, but images created in such way will definitely draw lot of attention and make you a better photographer overall.
